Plagiarism Policy

SaiKarya: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat maintains a zero-tolerance stance toward plagiarism, duplicate publication, data falsification, and unethical recycling of text. Authors must ensure that all submitted manuscripts represent genuine, original scholarly work.

• Similarity Threshold: The maximum acceptable overall similarity index is 20%. Any manuscript exceeding this threshold will not proceed to the peer-review process.

• Primary Screening Tool: All incoming manuscripts undergo mandatory plagiarism screening using Turnitin prior to desk evaluation by the editors.

• Tolerance Rules for Quotes and References: Standard bibliographic references, generic phrases, methodology templates, and properly cited direct quotations (with quotation marks) may be excluded from the percentage at the editor's discretion, provided the core discussion and findings remain completely original.

• Self-Plagiarism & Salami Slicing: Authors must not reuse substantial portions of their own previously published text or disassemble a single community service project into minimal publishable units without significant new insight and proper attribution.

• Sanctions for Violations:

  • During Review: Manuscripts displaying a similarity score above 20% or evidence of uncredited copying will be returned for revision or outright rejected depending on severity.

  • Post-Publication: If plagiarism or copyright infringement is discovered after publication, the editorial board will conduct an investigation following COPE guidelines, which may culminate in a formal retraction notice and notification to the author's affiliated institution.
