Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to JIESS: Journal of Informatics, Electrical, Statistics, and Information Systems will undergo a rigorous review process to maintain the quality and scientific integrity of the publication.

1. Review Scheme

  • Review Type: JIESS implements a Double-Blind Peer Review policy.

  • The author's identity will not be disclosed to the reviewer, and conversely, the reviewer's identity will not be known to the author during and after the review process.

2. Review Stages

  • Initial Screening: The editor will check administrative completeness, alignment with Focus and Scope, similarity level (plagiarism check max 20%), and compliance with the journal template. Manuscripts that do not comply may be directly rejected (desk rejection) or returned for revision.

  • Peer Review Assignment: Manuscripts that pass the initial stage will be sent to at least 2 (two) reviewers who are experts in their fields.

  • Editorial Decision: Based on recommendations from the reviewers, the editor will make a final decision on the manuscript:

    • Accept Submission: Accepted without changes.

    • Revisions Required: Accepted with minor revisions (small corrections).

    • Resubmit for Review: Major revisions are required and the manuscript will be re-reviewed.

    • Decline Submission: Rejected for failing to meet quality/content standards.

  • Author Revision: Authors are required to submit the revised manuscript along with a Matrix of Revisions (responses to reviewer feedback) within the specified timeframe.

3. Review Timeline

  • Initial Editor Screening: 1–3 days.

  • Peer Review Process: 2–4 weeks.

  • Final Publication Decision: 1–2 weeks after the final revision is approved.
